OPTIMUM SPRIT and LUG RIGGING

I have a couple of pages about how to set up a either a balance lug or a sprit rig.

PDRs are a hotbed of experimentation - so you are welcome to try anything. However Balance Lugs and Sprits are the easiest to get right and the best performing when set up correctly.

Also the most troublefree.

Anything you can do to make the sail better is great - but even if the sail is so-so this information will help the performance considerably.

If you are a racing hotshot and want to put a whole lot of expensive equipment on a PDR in the hope you can go faster still - just remember I'm a racing hotshot too and have worked out ways to transfer the thinking across at minimal cost.

For example we only use 3 blocks (pulleys) on our PDRs and they sail very well indeed.
