There's been some discussion on the mailing list about different ways to conduct sea based combat using puddle duck racers.

Possible way to account for damage

Here's a possible way to account for damage taken in battle. It's by attaching some "sticks" onto the gunwales of the boat and at the start of the "battle" just string some toilet tissue up between them. When that tissue's knocked down or broken, then that side is out and cannons on that side can't be used.

Tissue can be strung up on both sides, with cannons on both sides.

I haven't tried this and this pic represents 10m of thinking, so I don't know if it'd work at all. -jeremy
